Vanessa gave us this sneak peek from her photo shoot with Paper Magazine a few weeks ago and the Spring 2013 issue has now been released with Vanessa on the cover!! Sneak peek of the interview: On what she considers the key to making the transition from Disney star to a grown-up actress: “It’s always been hard for actors to cross that bridge but honestly, you have to hold out and do what you think is right for yourself,” she says, adding, “But I also think it is about finding someone who truly believes in you. Harmony took a really big jump in hiring me and Selena Gomez and Ashley [Benson].” On co-star James Franco: “I still don’t know him,” Hudgens says in wonderment. “I have no idea who James Franco is. I know who Alien is. He’s that into method acting. He comes on set as his character. In between scenes, he is still his character. When I first saw him, I was speechless because he just completely transformed himself. The way he talked, with that accent... Everything he does is so organic.” Vanessa also talks about her upcoming films (Gimme Shelter and Frozen Ground), bonding with her Spring Breakers co-stars and Disneyland. Here's a glimpse of the four-page spread entitled " The Age of Innocence" with styling by Sally Matthews and Photography by John Russo: On her father's reaction to Spring Breakers: “[My dad] was very excited when he saw the name Harmony Korine on my audition list. He knows that this is my passion and my career. He definitely is not one for standing in the way. Of course he has his concerns and wants to be a protective father, but my parents are so amazing, they have always given me the freedom to fly.”

About prepping for Gimme Shelter in a real homeless shelter: “They were completely cool with me, they were very welcoming and they really opened up to me which was really, really sweet. They let me pick their minds and get inside of their heads. It was definitely devastating, but it’s the reality of what happens to them.” Check out the rest of the Interview in the December issue!
